Gruelling ride raises £7500 for Help for Heroes

Farm business consultant Philip Dunn,  from Brown & Co Brigg office, completed a gruelling 190mile charity fund raising cycle ride in August 2010 helping to raise over £7500 for the ‘Help for Heroes’ fund – supporting our war wounded.

Starting out at 6am from Scunthorpe, Phil – who is a partner of Brown & Co – joined thirteen others who cycled to the Wotton Bassett War Memorial in Wiltshire.
Phil came in third, completing the epic ride in under 12 hours.

“We encountered various problems along the way including, getting lost in Leicestershire which added a ten mile detour, two punctures, one crash, six hours of heavy rain and far too many hills in the Cotswolds!” he says.  “Many thanks to all who sponsored me and, just for the record, I did shave my legs as promised!“

As a firm Brown & Co is actively involved in events across the Eastern region.

Steve Willerton, Adam Williamson, Tanya Clayton and Tom Gee pause for breath on top of Ben Nevis.

Several Brown & Co offices have taken part in the world’s largest coffee morning and held Christmas fund raising drinks parties.
