Huntingdon lies on the bank of the River Great Ouse opposite Godmanchester. The town is well known for its medieval bridge that joins the two towns. The bridge only ceased as the main crossing point in 1975. Huntingdon is a market town and it's traditional market is held in the market square on a Wednesday and a Saturday. Huntingdon is famed as the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell.
