With over 15 year experience and 60 successful relocations, the collaboration with our experienced Anglo-French company means there are many happy customers enjoying life over the channel. Here are details of 2 families who have taken the decision to relocate their farming businesses to France.

Paula and Graham, Limousin.

The family moved from the Isle of Islay following concerns about the future of farming in the UK.  They purchased a 100 ha (240acre) livestock farm in the Limousin area.  Paula and Graham now farm pure bred Limousin cattle with Charolais and Texel sheep.

“All of the farm is grassed down which enables us to fatten the lambs and calves whilst still with their mothers. By optimising our grazing our cows are fed nothing but grass in the summer and receive hay and silage in the winter months”

The stock is sold on contract through a producer group under a well known quality mark.

In June 2008 a decision was taken to diversify part of the farm and a tipi & yurt campsite was set up.  Further details can be found at www.limousin-farm-holidays.com.

“Our quality of life is superb, we have no regrets and we would never go back”!

Trevor & Libby, Burgundy

The family moved to a 120ha (296acre) Dairy unit when they became disillusioned with farming in the UK.

“We were looking for a farm, which could support our growing family and would also be a challenge to modernise and improve”

Labour relations have not been a problem. The family employ a local man on a part-time basis and they are members of the local machinery pool, which works well.

“Our son Richard has Young Farmer status and has benefitted from a 95,000 euro loan at 1% and a grant of 15,000 euros which is being used to install a new parlour”

“France is a country where they really appreciate farmers and we have no intention of going back to the UK”
