A long established figure in the area, Jim heads up the Land Agency team in King’s Lynn and is now managing partner of Brown & Co. Educated at King Edward VII School in King’s Lynn and then at Reading University, he qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1981. Jim specialises in farm agency and valuation, and is involved in a wide range of professional matters, mainly in private client work in the rural sector but also in development land issues.

Mary Ralph gained a Masters in Rural Estate Management from the Royal Agricultural College before moving to Norfolk. She qualified in 2003 and has six years experience working with clients throughout the county. Mary joined Brown & Co in 2007. Her particular expertise lie in estate management – with a focus on maximising returns from rural property assets – compensation claims and rural property valuation.

Ed studied agriculture for four years before graduating in Rural Enterprise and Land Management. He qualified both as a Chartered Surveyor and as a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers in 2004.

Ed worked as a Land Agent involved in planning and rural property management work in the South East before heading north where he worked in Estate Management across the East Midlands. A Senior Associate of Brown & Co, now based in King’s Lynn, Norfolk (after 4 years at the Firm’s Spalding office), Ed is involved in all aspects of rural agency and valuation together with general professional work including compensation negotiations with Utility Firms (pipelines & cables), rural property lettings, rent reviews, Farm Machinery Auctions, Sporting Agreements/ Health & Safety planning, Environmental Stewardship & Single Payment Scheme issues, telecoms and renewables

Ed also undertakes digital mapping work in conjunction with farm management data recording and deals with all of Brown & Co’s brokerage services for Entitlements, Contracts and Quotas.
