On Accession Poland agreed a period of 12 years before foreigners
could own agricultural property. However, foreign capital can own
shares (100%) in a company that owns agricultural property but
cannot purchase it directly until 2016.
The market continues to rise post accession, largely as a result of
EU direct payments that are on a rising plane up to 2009/2010.
The market is currently at Euro 1,300 - 5,250/ ha subject to land quality
and location.
