It makes sense to engage a professional when making what is for most people, the biggest single purchase of a lifetime. The two main types of residential surveys offered by Brown & Co. are a homebuyers survey and a building survey.
A Building Survey is a detailed inspection of the property and fine detail is recorded as appropriate. The report includes comment beyond simple listing of defects and consideration is given to the future performance and likely problem areas where these can be reasonably identified. Although a visual inspection, we endeavour to be as precise as possible about potential problems and avoid blanket recommendations for specialist advice to be obtained.
If a problem is suspected which falls outside the scope of our inspection then a recommendation for further investigation will be
made although we will try to give some indication of what work might be required.
