The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 Act imposes
a duty to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises and
Regulation 4 states that "the duty holder shall ensure that a suitable
and sufficient assessment is carried out as to whether asbestos
is or is liable to be present in the premises".

Those deemed by the Act to be the duty holders must arrange for
a suitable assessment to be undertaken. Brown & Co have
recognised this need and surveyors have been awarded the P402
Proficiency Certificate for Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for
Asbestos by the British Occupational Hygiene Society.
