Most homes are bought with the aid of a mortgage from a bank,
building society or some other type of lender. A brief report is
prepared for the lender to establish whether the property is
adequate security for the proposed loan.

But, did you know that the inspection and report is solely for this
purpose, IT IS NOT A SURVEY. This distinction is frequently
misunderstood and the incorrect term 'Building Society Survey'
is often used. The issuing of a complimentary copy of the report
to the applicants reinforces this misapprehension and many
buyers think that a survey has been carried out.
