Disputes are often best solved quickly and cost effectively – both mediation and arbitration can be useful tools in doing this.
The ServiceMediation is a form of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in which the mediator, as a mutual third party, facilitates communications between the parties in dispute to assist them in reaching a mutually acceptable settlement. The mediator acts as a mutual go-between to help the parties to reopen negotiations and find a settlement to their dispute without having to go to Court or Tribunal, which is expensive, risky and hugely stressful. |

Why Brown & Co?
David Hooper, our qualified Mediator, has spent over 30 years in rural property and business consultancy advising farmers, landowners and people who live and work in rural communities.
David uses his experience to help parties in a dispute explore their differences and find solutions in a safe, non confrontational way and aims to let them move on from the dispute so they can get on with their lives. The best scenario is that they are able to re-establish working or family relationships that were on the point of collapse.
As well as our qualified mediator, across the firm we have professionals who are in a position to give advice to clients and assist them in negotiations on a wide range of property issues. We also have qualified arbitrators within the firm who fully understand the litigation process, including its cost, traps and pitfalls.
How you benefit
Mediation is a cost and time effective method of resolving disputes. It usually works out considerably cheaper than the alternative of taking action through the Courts.
Participants frequently say that they have found the process more satisfactory and less stressful than actions through the Courts, and enjoy the benefit of finding their own solution rather than having one imposed on them.
