FUTURE FARMING RESILIENCE - A Defra-funded initiative - A series of free workshops for tenant farmers

Brown&Co are hosting a series of free breakfast workshops to support tenant farmers on the upcoming changes to the Agricultural industry.

Defra has launched a programme of work that will “provide resilience support to farmers and land managers to help them prepare for, and adjust to, the Agricultural Transition by addressing the opportunities it presents and the impacts it could have.” Brown&Co are hosting a series of free breakfast workshops to support tenant farmers on the upcoming changes to the agricultural industry.

Considering the latest Governmental advice on Coronavirus we have taken the decision to postpone the planned events until further notice. Locations will remain the same for future events so please do still register your interest for your local workshop and we will be in touch once a date has been re-arranged.

The loss of BPS will be the most challenging change for a large proportion of the UK farming base with approximately 50% of farming businesses currently reliant on BPS to achieve profitability.

These workshops are an opportunity to have your questions answered by Brown&Co experts on how to future-proof your business and make preparations for the agricultural transition as well as sharing challenges and opportunities with farmer peer groups on the upcoming changes.

Key topics for discussion including but not exclusive to;
• Investment decisions in the face of FBT Tenancy security issues
• The opportunity of Environmental Land Management Schemes (ELMS)
• Using the transition period to plan for change
• Diversification opportunities under tenancy agreements
• Succession or exit planning
• Advice on financing options under tenancy agreements
• Collaborations and business restructuring
• New grants to support innovation and productivity

Attendees will be given an information pack to take away and will receive case studies to benchmark their business.

All workshops will commence at 09.00am with bacon rolls and finish at 11.30am
