Brown&Co are pleased to share the success of the Spring online property auction.

Many of you will know that we had to change the arrangements due to the Coronavirus and I pay tribute to all those people in the residential team who helped us deal with the technology and put this sale on in short order.

The auction was held in private in the closed Norwich office with all staff following the regulations that are now in place.

There were 14 properties on offer on the day and including two lots sold after, we are pleased to report that we sold 10 out of 14.

Our next auction is at the end of June and we already have a number of lots for inclusion in that sale, but at least now we have another string to our bow and have been through the online process and see the great advantages to this method of sale.

The results speak for themselves and perhaps remind us that the world does carry on.  A terraced house in Wingfield Road being sold by Trustees sold for £108,000, being in excess of the reserve.  The terraced house market in North Norwich has always been popular but we were pleased that this sale went well and shows that there is still demand for properties in need of renovation.

Amenity land in South West Norfolk sold for £60,000 with 80 bids!  Whereas amenity land in Trapps Lane, East Tuddenham sold for £33,500, well in excess of the reserve with 19 bids.

We were delighted to be acting for the Littleport Estate in Cambridgeshire where a farm house in some 3 acres with 7 bedrooms sold at £335,000 well in excess of the reserve.

So at a difficult time we are pleased to bring some good news and with many thanks for everyone who has made it possible to hold the online sale.

As always we are keen to continue with business and to help clients with a wide variety of property.

With events being as they are, it is likely that the June auction will also be held on an online basis and the Spring auction process has shown that this method of sale does work, which can only be a good thing.

With all good wishes to everyone at Brown & Co and stay safe.
