RESERVE PRICES EXCEEDED IN MANY CASES
Property on Town Close Estate sells for over £200,000 over reserve price.
Chartered Surveyor Peter Hornor was delighted with the results of his winter sale held at the Assembly House on 12th December in Norwich.
Including one lot sold immediately after the auction, Brown & Co sold just over £2.5M worth of property, representing a success rate of over 70% with 5 lots available which the agents hope will be sold in the coming days.
The sale confirmed that there is activity throughout the price ranges in the market, with properties selling well throughout Norfolk and Suffolk and with a number of highlights.
A terraced house in Angel Road sold for £30,000 in excess of the reserve, with properties in Clarendon Road and St Williams Way selling well. A three bedroom semi-detached house in Bodham on the outskirts of Holt sold well in excess of the reserve as well.
Amenity land on the edge of East Tuddenham sold for £30,000 in excess of the reserve and a semi-detached coach house on the edge of Hethersett sold for some £25,000 in excess of the reserve, whilst a bungalow close to Halesworth with an agricultural restriction sold for £66,000 over the reserve.
The outstanding lot of the day was a semi-detached 5 bedroom listed house on the Town Close Estate in the middle of Norwich being sold on behalf of Trustees at a guide price of £700,000 - £750,000, selling for £937,500.
Peter Hornor concludes that the firm is delighted with these results that shows there is strength in the market despite the national situation and hopes that this confidence that has been shown will continue as we move forward into 2020.
