Meadow Lake Farm

A challenging site of only 8m in width, this existing garage site presented a unique design and planning challenge. Creating a new house which sat within a well-established residential area, which was large enough to make commercially viable and did not represent over development of the narrow plot, was the challenge. Taking cues from some existing residential garden buildings and the local vernacular of post war arts and crafts style properties, the design for this house needed to be subservient to the adjacent properties. As a smaller reflection of its neighbours, the design built in 3 bedrooms, living space and a courtyard garden, along with off-road parking. All of this is housed within a semi-garage/studio style property.
