Ian Knowles - Architectural Assistant, Associate, BSc (HONS)
Ian is an Architectural Designer who has been working at Brown&Co since 2018. Ian delivers work across a broad scope of sectors, particularly in feasibility, concept design, conservation, remodelling existing buildings, and is currently delivering several projects on site. Ian has recently worked on two farm redevelopments - one was a conversion of a range of historic barns to residential use in Belton, and the second being a demolition and mixed-use redevelopment of a farm site in Willisham. Current projects include two food hall developments - the first being a conversion of an existing farm range and the second a food hall on an agriculture-related site, reinterpreting agricultural building details.
Before starting a career in Architecture, Ian qualified and worked as a stonemason and was lucky enough to work on a prestigious project like conservation to Hampton Court Palace. Before joining Brown&Co, Ian worked at two other Architectural Practices, the first in Kent, which focused on Education projects. Following this, Ian moved to Devon and worked on a range of conservation projects looking and several feasibility schemes.
