Our Residential team in Norwich has been instructed to sell the childhood home of renowned artist Edward Seago, located in one of the finest areas of the 'Golden Triangle.'

Seago House, 13 Christchurch Road, an attached Edwardian house, was the birthplace of Seago in 1910 and he lived in the property until 1924.

Interestingly, the house is mentioned in the first page of his biography in the chapter: 'The Colours are Mixed.'

Seago’s landscapes, seascapes, skyscapes and street scenes were a favourite with the Royal Family, particularly the late Queen Mother. It was a well-known tradition that the artist would give the Royal Family one of his paintings each year.

Seago, who went on to live in Ludham, on the Norfolk Broads, is also credited with teaching HRH King Charles himself to paint.

Built in 1904 with later 1933 additions, the house has a distinctive Dutch, hand-made brick front elevation and is wonderfully positioned in one of the finest residential roads in Norwich."

David Hinton, Residential Sales Manager and Divisional Partner, based in our Norwich office, said: "Built in 1904 with later 1933 additions, the house has a distinctive Dutch, hand-made brick front elevation and is wonderfully positioned in one of the finest residential roads in Norwich.

"Arranged over three floors, it has a 1930s original front door. Of particular note, is the drawing room with a lovely bay window with oak parquet flooring and fine ornate ceiling works as well as a walnut paneled dining room, also with oak parquet flooring."
