Stephen joined the Brown&Co Architecture & Planning team in 2023 as an Associate Planner. He has over 15 years of experience working within the public sector. His previous roles included time spent working in policy and development management teams, at local authorities in the southeast and East Anglia.

He has developed broad planning knowledge and is experienced in dealing with a wide range of developments, in both urban and rural locations.  These include working with residential, commercial, community and listed building projects. Stephen has extensive experience of the planning process having assessed a diverse range of pre-application enquiries, planning applications and presenting at committee meetings. He also has experience of preparing written statements for planning appeals. His work as a policy planner involved the preparation of local plan policies, the allocation of development sites and engagement with the public at Parish / Council meetings.

Stephen holds an MSc degree in Town Planning, studied for at Anglia Ruskin University. His family has a strong background in East Anglian farming which has provided him with knowledge of fruit growing techniques, green energy production and farm diversification projects including the development of successful golf and leisure businesses.
