Tim worked for Brown&Co from 1990 to 1996 in Boston and rejoined the firm with the merger of Lincoln based JHWalter with Brown&Co on 1 October 2021.
An experienced negotiator who advises rural property sales privately off market, by private treaty, tender and auction. He advises on the investment and purchase of farmland and has knowledge of soils through the east midlands including silts and fenland. Acts as expert witness and values all types of rural property for many purposes including tax, matrimonial, demerger, partition and secured lending. Development advice includes large scale solar, rural residential and rural commercial sites including option and overage agreements. Other specialisms include estate management, Agricultural Holdings Act 1986, Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995, tenancy surrender and valuation. Interests include environment issues, carbon drawdown, natural capital, biodiversity net gain, soils, regenerative farming and rewilding.
Tim lives in central Lincolnshire and has provided rural advice throughout the east midlands for over 30 years having been based in Cambridge, Boston, Louth and since 1999 in Lincoln.
Recent land sales include a farm at Thoresway in the Lincolnshire Wolds, at mixed unit at Stapleford near Newark on the Lincolnshire Nottinghamshire Border and a private off market sale of an arable unit of over 800 acres. Purchasing an arable unit of over 600 acres near Lincoln. Development advice and subsequent sale of a large important range of Listed Barns. Substantial estate valuations include a fund holding over 15,000 acres. Options and lease for a substantial solar farm.
Clients include landowners, tenants, rural estates, agricultural lenders, lawyers, accountants, family Trusts and pension funds.
Tim is a qualified Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and an RICS Registered Valuer.
