Brochure Portfolio Meet our experts

Our Architecture & Planning teams provide innovative, creative and deliverable planning consultancy and architectural design across our office network.

Our teams support clients in the East of England, the Midlands, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire - based in Norwich, St Neots and Lincoln.

We are well placed to deliver projects locally and regionally.

The teams’ approach centres around working collaboratively with clients to help support and deliver on their project aspirations. Our work benefits from the support of the wider Brown&Co business, enabling us to deliver schemes which meet planning requirements, deliver value to clients and create quality spaces and places for future occupants and communities.

Taylors Lane

Acting on behalf of the landowner, we managed this process successfully through an initial Class Q application followed by a full planning application to the local planning authority, Huntingdonshire District Council, to replace a barn conversion with two high quality detached dwellings.

Stow Longa

The concept layout for this project was developed around the idea of a farmhouse to the front with three barn-like dwellings sited to the rear, around a courtyard. The dwellings provide open plan layouts with light and spacious interiors

Hillsend

We worked with Devlin Developments to deliver a new set of house types for this site which delivered a traditional take on Norfolk homes, but with little details to ensure that they represented current and modern offering. The homes are now occupied and the residents love them, a real testament to the high quality design and craftsmanship. Working with a committed client who has an eye for detail and a commitment to quality made the project enjoyable to work on.

Haddenham

These two dwellings sit on the edge of the Isle of Ely with long distance views over the surrounding countryside to Ely Cathedral. The site is currently occupied by a grain store, the redevelopment of which provided an opportunity to create two houses taking full advantage of the location and gently sloping site. The design of the houses, with echoes of a courtyard, took its cue from an existing courtyard complex, formerly a dairy which had been converted to houses some time ago.

Newmarket Road

A modern but vernacular extension to an existing property. The design brief was to provide a modern, open plan kitchen and living area and covered patio area to allow the family to fully exploit the property and mature gardens. The project was ‘Highly Commended’ at the Norfolk Association of Architects Craftsmanship Awards.

The Priory

This substantial renovation and extension project has brought a typical 1960s property back to life. The incorporation of lots of natural daylight, split level spaces and open plan living has modernised the property, which now makes the most of a fantastic setting and unique views over Norwich Cathedral.
