James has worked for Brown&CoJHWalter since December 2010, starting in the Energy Department before moving to the Planning Team in 2016, whilst completing a Masters in Urban Planning from Sheffield Hallam University.

James has worked and gained significant experience in a range of planning matters, including full and outline planning applications and pre-application enquiries from single dwelling schemes to major residential developments, farm diversification projects, agricultural developments and planning appraisals for a wide range of development types. James also has significant experience undertaking planning applications for the conversion of agricultural buildings to residential dwellings and commercial uses, discharge of planning conditions work, and representing clients for the promotion of their land through the Local Plan Examination process.

James has been a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) since August 2020.
