Rural Surveyor/ Land Agent Graduate
Overview of Role
We are seeking aspiring Land Agents to join our Rural team. This is an exciting opportunity for motivated graduates who are eager to develop their careers within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Brown&Co offers a structured graduate training programme designed to support progression towards relevant professional qualifications, including Fellowship of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers and the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). Graduates will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to a variety of disciplines, including:

This breadth of experience provides an excellent foundation for developing a successful career as a rural practice Chartered Surveyor.
Requirements
- A relevant degree or higher qualification
- A willingness to work towards professional qualifications, including CAAV/ the APC
- Previous industry experience is desirable but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of both small and large teams

Agricultural Business Consultancy
Graduate Agricultural Business Consultant
Overview of Role
We are seeking aspiring Agricultural Business Consultants to join our Agricultural Business Consultancy team. Successful candidates will work alongside experienced and highly skilled professionals, supporting a diverse range of businesses.
The role offers exposure to a broad spectrum of activities, including:
- Financial analysis, monitoring and business performance reviews
- Budget preparation and business planning
- Benchmarking and business improvement projects
- Joint venture and collaborative business arrangements
- Grant and agricultural scheme applications
- UK agricultural compliance and regulatory work
Within the Agri-Business Consultancy department, we run our own two-year graduate training programme, consisting of internal in person sessions with external speakers. The programme includes the core modules of budgeting and management, contract farming agreements and joint ventures, farm policy, environmental schemes, bookkeeping and administration, and core Agri-Business Consultancy.
As a graduate at Brown&Co, you will also have the opportunity to attend and shadow on-site farm meetings, providing valuable insight into client relationships and practical farm business management.

Ecology
Assistant/ Graduate Ecologist
Overview of Role
Brown&Co is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Graduate/Assistant Ecologist to join our in-house ecology team. The role will build upon our growing work base in the East of England and across the wider national footprint of the Firm. This is an entry-level position and would lend well to an early career Assistant Ecologist or motivated graduate looking to take the next step in their career.
As a Graduate/Assistant Ecologist you will be responsible for undertaking a variety of Ecological Appraisals, Biodiversity Net Gain Assessments, and protected species surveys. This will give you not only the hands-on experience of day-to-day consultancy but involvement in technical write-ups, client management, and general cross-disciplinary project delivery with the wider Brown&Co departments.
Requirements
- A relevant degree (or higher qualification)
- Enthusiasm for ecology
- Be self-driven and motivated
- Experience in undertaking Ecological or Biological surveys
- Excellent report writing skills suitable for technical scientific write-up
- Knowledge of UK and European wildlife and environmental legislation and policy
- Professional level of Microsoft software competence, including, Word, Outlook, and Excel
