Brigg has been a thriving market town for centuries, serving the rural villages on both sides of the River Ancholme which runs through the centre. Brigg has all of the relaxed qualities of a country market town with a small market place at its heart, still with a traditional street market on Thursday and Saturdays together with a thriving farmers market each month. The main shopping street has a host of small shops and businesses.
There are two well respected secondary schools in Brigg: The Vale Academy and Sir John Nelthorpe and two primary schools: St. Mary’s RC School and Brigg Primary School.
Brigg is situated between junctions 4 (three miles) and 5 (four miles) of the M180 motorway, Humberside International Airport is 8 miles distant and main line rail connections are available at Barnetby Station 3 miles distant.
