A challenging conversion of the former village Post Office required the reimagining of potential space available, so that a local business could add to a vibrant market village High Street. We worked with the client and structural team to deliver an open plan space, combining small rooms together, which enabled them to pull natural light into a deep floorplan. The property is Listed and so there was ongoing consultation and coordination with the Local Authority Conservation team, with the focus on balancing the need for a modern retail space with the protection of the heritage asset. Good early consultation ensured planning went smoothly. The first and second residential floors have also been converted to a separate dwelling as part of the wider project.
