We offer landowners the chance to assess their existing Stewardship Scheme in situ to ensure they are compliant with Natural England’s rules and regulations.
Led by an experienced consultant, we offer a farm mapping service, using state of the art GPS technology, to ensure your CSS/ELS/HLS strips and plots are of correct size and compliant with the management specifications.
As part of the full audit service you will receive:
· An office meeting to discuss the ELS/HLS or CSS currently in place on the farm, and what exactly is required from your Stewardship agreement.
· A farm visit by one of our experienced Stewardship advisors to map all of the option areas on site.
· A full field by field report outlining standing plot sizes and the condition of the mixtures found. Any shortfall in area will be highlighted and advice will be provided on any improvements required to meet
· An estate/farm map for your wall, up to A0 in size, showing all fields, land use type and Stewardship features.
There is also the possibility of arranging a ‘Spot Check’ where we can apply the above process to a smaller, sample area of land in order to give an idea of how the farm is meeting Natural England’s requirements. Please contact your local office to discuss.
At Brown&Co we have considerable knowledge of Environmental and Countryside Stewardship Schemes, both past and present. Our significant Environmental experience and dedicated Environmental consultants also have sound practical farming and financial knowledge. We have undertaken numerous audits for farmers, and been able to highlight previously unforeseen issues that would have otherwise resulted in an inspection fines and penalties.
Our service is designed to remove all the stress and hassle of a future RPA Stewardship inspection. Farmers Nationwide are realising that they have insufficient option areas only after an inspection has taken place. This can lead to fines of up to four times the option value received. By measuring these features before the RPA inspects, you can ensure that your plot sizes are correct and compliant, giving you peace of mind when the RPA call and the ability to avoid £10,000’s penalties.
